Friday Night Fire

|
The wife, the kids, me, and a few cold beverages; throw in some Smore's (made with Resse's Peanut Butter Cups - yep) and a great way to wind down from the brutal work week.

Nights like these should happen more often.  We get caught up in the day-to-day minutia and forget about these little moments that truly count.  Sometimes you have to force yourself to slow down and just chill.

Wine-o Momma

|
Sunshine and wine makes momma happy, so, we enjoyed both on Mother's Day.

Celebrated having a kick-ass mom of my two kids by going for a early afternoon hike then hitting Sugarloaf winery on the way home.

Front Yard Joy

|
Really hard to find something sweeter in this world than my little lady (boots on) swinging in the front yard, just enjoying the sunshine.

To The Top Of The World...

|
One of our absolute favorite spots, Sugarloaf Mountain.

It's even better when, after reaching the summit, you head to the winery a few miles away for some post-hike refreshment.

Neighborhood Hunters

|
The annual neighborhood egg hunt; highlights and low-lights:

Highlight #1 - Absolutely perfect weather.
Highlight #2 - Lots of kids, eggs, and candy.

Low-light #1 - Annabelle taking a golf ball, to the forhead, from a neighborhood devil child just minutes before heading to the hunt.  However, she was a trooper and participated (at a bare minimum) in the hunt.  Jaxson stepped up his game and hunted and delivered eggs for AB.

Pre-Season For Easter

|
We hosted a Parent's Night Out last weekend at Annabelle's school; 75-degree weather for an egg hunt was a little warm, but we were able to send the kids outside for awhile - so that worked out well.

Easter Bunny Early Arrival

|
The bunny from down south (Boo & Pops), made and early arrival at our house this week.  Always happy to see a package arrive at the house, even if it is for the kids and not me.

A box full of stuffed animals, Easter goodies, cash (for the kids), and some candy (sadly, also for the kids); and Frozen...Annabelle's obsession.

Life's A Game

|
Family night at AB's school last weekend allowed us to slow down for a few hours and just enjoy the little moments with the kids.  A few board games, some playground time, and a buffet fit for a king kid...hot dogs, mac-n'-cheese, sweets, etc.

Mr. Lincoln's Kids

|

Gettysburg History Lesson

|
A few learning / teaching moments between Boo, Pops, AB, and Jax at the battlefields in Gettysburg.

Un-Caged Animals

|
A break in the weather allowed for a visit to the National Zoo in DC to see the pandas.

The Finest Birthday Dinner

|
Miss Belle wanted Chick-Fil-A for her birthday dinner; with a free face paint and free kid's meals...I'm good with that.

A Special Lunch Date

|
Buddy was joined at lunch with Boo, Pops, and Miss Belle.

Beat Down Birthday Party

Birthday Booby-Trap

|
The little lady turned the Big-5 this week...crazy to thing my little Moons is 5.

She may be the most fiesty, funny, five-year old out there, and that's why we love her.

Snow Runner...?

|
The blue "flash" you can see in the distance is Robbie pulling the kids DOWN the snow tubing area for youngsters.

With the snow turning to slush, a little extra help was needed.

Tubing in PA

|
Just thirty-five miles to the north of Frederick is Ski Liberty in Emmittsburg, PA; a small ski area that includes snow tubing.

A portion of the extended Coon family were in town, so a day trip north was in order.

Weather was warm, around fifty degrees, but better than being cold as hell.  A little snow-making machine action and we were good to go...
