'Tis The Season

The baking season has begun.

Jax does his due diligence in tasting as momma cooks.

Built Of Blankets and Pillows

Numerous, numerous, numerous nights growing up, my brother, my cousin, and I constructed forts at our grandparents house out of couch cushions, sheets, blankets, and the occasional spare piece of furniture.

Every boy goes through their military phase. Whether it be G.I Joe or an infatuation with our armed forces - we all have that phase.

Somewhere deep down in our DNA makeup, we as boys are hard wired to build, blow-up, destroy, and attack...it our natural instinct.

I think my boy has gotten a taste of the years to come.

The Three Wise Men?

Trotting '08

Three years strong of strutting our goods on Turkey Day. Gotta make room for the feasting of the day.

The size of our crew seems to vary each year, but this we made a very strong showing with a group of 15.
Not only does our crew grow, but the crowd grows each year. This year there were 10,000+ runners/walkers; a 22% increase from last year. Very impressive Fort Worthians.

It seems the Griswald's showed up, oh wait, that was just Rick stufing his car with people - and no room left for the strollers...

Watching Charlie Do His Thing

Just below National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and It's A Wonderful Life, my two other favorite holiday flicks are Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving and Christmas special.

I have not been doing my due diligence for the last couple of years and failed to see either; however, Jax and I were able to sit down with momma and catch the last half of the Thanksgiving special.

Besides being thankful for a family that makes me smile on a daily basis, it is the small moments like this that makes everything worth it.

Pre-Turkey Day at Boo's

With the all the families headed separate directions for Turkey Day, portions of the family had a pre-turkey feast warm-up at Boo's. Holiday or not, gathering a large mass of the family is always a pleasure, especially at your child hood home.
Bird's eye view of the action.
Jaxson waiting for the approval to begin feasting.

Uncle Chad and Cody-Man discuss the intricacies of turkey vs. stuffing.

She makes it look good, right?

Rockin' and Talkin'

Post Saturday morning breakfast at Cracker Barrel, the kiddo needed to sit and chat a spell.

Stealing Some Kisses

Working in the nursery on Sunday during church, my favorite little girl (until Annabelle gets here) Mackenzie joined us while her parents went to the service.

I think Jaxson agrees that she is just the cutest bag-of-cheeks around.

The man behind the curtain...

Teaching Honor At A Young Age

During a recent Pledge of Allegiance, the little man kept his hand over his heart through the entire pledge. Obviously, I had to put it there to start, but he kept up his end.

Night, Night

We had no part in the set-up of scene. Jaxson thought it was bed time for him and all his furry friends.

Notice all his friends have their own pillows.

We Paid To Do This?

Since I am just now able to move my body enough to type and recount the pain-induced trauma we suffered over the weekend, go here to learn more and see more. Who knew you had muscles in your little toe that could be sore...

Just Horsing Around

An old abandoned horse barn and men with their kiddos...time to see what we can get into.
