Tights Gone Wild

Momma buys some tights for Halloween, leaves them open in the closet, and you leave the kiddo alone for five minutes and this is what you get.

She's Got Her Bling

|
First hurdle crossed for our little girl.

Our doctor offers ear piercings in their office, which is great because you know it is sterile, they numb the ears, and there are plenty of bodies around to help hold down the wiggly worm.

Knowing that doctors, for the most part, are perfectionist and that they (we) only want to go through the process one time definitely made for an exciting (tense) few minutes. After a few test placements and double-checks from the nurses, we went for it.
She was more upset at the fact that we were holding her down, because when the actual piercing happened, the screams were doable and she recovered very quickly. A few hugs from momma and she was ready to show the world.

Duo At The Doctor

|
Two kids, one doctor, two parents, 3 shots - makes for an exciting visit. All in all, good news. Both kiddos are healthy, stats as follows:

Annabelle:
Height: 28" (85 percentile range)
Weight: 18 lbs. 15 oz. (75 percentile range)
Side Notes: Double ear infection, although she did really well in not complaining to us about this - never said a word. Now we know why she has been extra cranky the last few days.

Jaxson:
Height: 39-3/4" (95 percentile range)
Weight: 39.6 lbs (95 percentile range)
Side Notes: No outstanding issues, which is great news considering the last few weeks of sickness. However, I think the doctor has a crush on my little buddy.

Loving Friday Night Lights

|
Plans were to take the whole family to Aledo to catch an incredible sunset and a classic Friday night football game; however, Mr. Fever attacked Miss Belle so momma stayed home and nursed the little lady back to health. The risk just wasn't worth the reward keeping the little lady out at night - so just us boys headed west.

Not to let the the little lady feel left out, Jaxson snagged a football after one of the many touchdowns from the Bearcats.

Is this what desperation looks like? Well, on Sunday that is exactly what it looked like. But,the Mojo worked.

Eat More Bacon.

|
One thing scared me more than anything when I knew we were going to have two kids. Not dual diaper duty (pardon the pun), not two kids fighting, not even paying child care payments for two. What scared me more than anything was the first time that both kids got sick at the same time.

I'm not talking the common cold type of sick. I'm talking fever-coughing-aching-shoot-me-now-this-sucks type of sick.

Well, it is about to happen.

As I am getting over my flu (just the regular version), my little Bambino is at home with the H1N1 virus. The dreaded Swine Flu. Though, Miss Belle isn't sick yet - I have a bad feeling that it is coming. Hopefully all will end well and we can get out of this with just one of my little ones getting the swine.

Not only did the swine get Bambino sick; because of him being sick we had to cancel our trip (we were suppose to leave tomorrow, Friday) to Maryland to meet Colt for the first time. I know we will still get to see him soon, hopefully in a few weeks if all the schedules work out right, but it is still not how I had planned this weekend to span out.

So, my plan of attack is to eat more bacon. I realize that the pig actually has nothing to do with the H1N1 virus, but I can at least sleep better at night knowing that in some way I did my part to fight back.

So, grab some thick cut bacon and get to cooking. Make yourself a good ole' BLT and wash it down with some Chicaronnes.

Take that Wilber.

Teaching The Young Ones

Pre-bed story time, I believe it was Jaxson' kids Bible this evening. Not sure what he ended up telling her, but I am sure it was interesting.
