Hats Off To Jakes

|
A little Saturday afternoon downtown Fort Worth wandering led us to Jake's, the new burger spot a few blocks from the office. So far, this place has a special spot in my tummy. Great burgers, great staff, and just the thing downtown needed - a good burger spot that is local and not a chain.Highly recommended. Even the Bambino dug the place.

Cute and Creepy

I know those creepy little statues come alive when the sun goes down. I just know it.

A Little Assistance Please

Lending A Helping Hand

|
The Bambino is eager to hold and help us with Belle whenever possible.  It sure does help having a third person around the house to go fetch a blanket or a Kleenex on the occasion that Robbie and I are both doing something that prevents us from completing the task at hand.

I am thinking a few lessons behind the wheel and this kid will be ready to take Annabelle and himself to school.

More sleep...here we come.

Four Wheels Is All A Boy Needs

|
One of the greatest 'toys' my parents gave my brother and I growing up was a Honda 250cc four-wheeler. It was a great gift, not because it was a four-wheeler, but because it gave us the opportunity to explore acres and acres around our house - and let us be 'wild boys.' I remember coming home from school and hoping on the four-wheeler for hours and hours until it was dark. An incredible toy for two boys in the country.

This power wheels version that Bambino was toying with at a friend's house could be just a stepping stone for years to come.

Did I Hear Something?

We Had A Visitor.

Big Guy Bed

|
Night one with the converted bed when extremely well. Bambino slept until 8:30am. That is two hours past his normal time to rise-and-shine on the weekends.

Maybe it was more than the bed, because Annabelle slept even later.

Eggs of Confetti

|
It quickly turned from a peaceful Easter egg hunt, into an all out war when the kids discovered that some of the eggs were confetti-filled. An absolute bargain for the return we got in giggles and grins.

Hunters and Gatherers

|
One obvious joy of being a parent is passing on traditions from one generation to the next, and taking the leap from just being a part of the tradtion to starting your own.

Friends help to make these traditions. Without friends, we are all just us. Friends make moments memorable. We have had the opprotunity to have a weekly "Dinner Club" with dear friends, that has turned into deeper relationships and binds that go beyond our weekly dinner together.

Hosting the egg hunt at our house this year was something that we really wanted to do. Opening your home and having children's laughter bouncing off the walls makes a house a home.

Egg-celent Decorating

|
Not sure if Robyn or Jaxson had a higher anticipation factor going into Saturday and the upcoming annual tradition of decorating eggs.

The Bambino took a quick liking to the process, wanting to be a part of each step.

Judging by his final assessment, I think he was pleased with the outcome.

Good Friday Indeed.

|
Almost one month since our newest addition; and due to illnesses, work schedules, and just being a family with two kids, we haven't truly had a full day together just to be a family and waste the day by enjoying each other.

With an impromptu Chick-Fil-A picnic at a local park, we finally got the chance to be a family and allow us ALL to act like kids. Momma even went down a slide with Miss Belle strapped into her sling.

Not a bad Good Friday in my book.

Cheap Thrills

|
Take one balloon, add a clip to the end of the string, clip it to the shirt tail of your kiddo, then tell them the balloon is chasing them. It will buy you about 5 minutes of sanity.

Breakfast W/ The Stars

|
As a small gift, my boss gave Jaxson and I tickets to Breakfast with the Stars, an annual fundraising event for Tarrant Area Food Bank - a client of our firm's. They recently completed a community kitchen renovation that we designed that they wanted to show-off and raise money at the same time.

The event gave the participants the opportunity to cook, have community members sample their goods, and to also raise money and awareness. The event was centered around kids, so along with the food they had cartoon characters, photo booths, coloring stations, a music station, and various other small activities.
At some point, we discovered the really cool stuff was outside parked in the street.

Movie Hypnotized

|
A recent upgrade of the t.v. in our house called for an old fashion movie night.

Popcorn, soda, pajamas, and Marley & Me.

Surprisingly, Bambino made it through the entire movie.
